Every effort is made to ensure that we are accurate with our descriptions. Remember that many classic cars have had dash modifications in the years since production, even restored cars, and so it is best that, although a particular radio maybe OEM to your car, you get in touch. You can ask questions live via live-chat whilst browsing, call us or send us an email. We appreciate a photo of your dash so that we can advise accurately as to the fitment of any particular radio. Where you have specific cosmetic demands please let us know and we will be happy to put together a radio so that it is even more original to your car.
VIDEO, PHOTO & TEXT:
We shoot videos of some radios playing once they have finished restoration. The videos are taken whilst benching using a regulated power source, authentic chrome aerial (unboosted) and period car speakers of no more than 25 watts in power. This way we try to give an accurate audio description of the radio's functionality. The videos are shot without any visual modifications whatsoever and are as real as we can make them. In some cases where we have a number of identical radios we will use the same video for each, this is only ever done when the quality of audio displayed by each radio is identical and the cosmetics match. All photography is taken in the same way as our video, using the bench method, we would like to take both video and photos of the radios where they belong, in classic car dashboards, but this is impossible at present. We try to be as honest as we possibly can with our text (please see the 'descriptions' section). We are limited in display space for the number of models and or marques that any given radio is compatible with. Please use these as a guide and get in touch if you want to be sure of the compatibility of a radio to a particular vehicle. We are happy to research your vehicle for you if it is a rare or one off classic. All rights to the reproduction and or sharing of these videos/photos/text is protected and cannot be used commercially without our express permission.
REFUNDS, CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS:
We offer a 14 day return policy from date of receipt, please note this will not apply if your radio has been installed by any other than a professional installer or garage. To this end please feel free to give your professional installer our details so that we can be of any assistance in the installation. Radios must be returned, at your expense, complete with all accessories and undamaged, in full working order. We will happily swap the radio for another of equal/greater value or refund you, excluding the cost of return postage. Although we offer a 14 day return this does not apply after failed installation or if accidental damage has occurred internally or externally after delivery. Any returns instigated after the 14 day period from receipt are subject to a 10% restocking fee.
We reserve the right to cancel any transaction or order we believe has been made in error, we believe to be fraudulent or where the item is from our sold gallery and is not in stock. Any monies paid will be refunded in full immediately the order has been cancelled.
INSTALLATION & WARRANTY:
Our car radios are sold with a minimum 12 month worldwide warranty against defects but not against installation mishaps. Always use a professional installer, some of these radios are over 50 years old and need to be handled with care.The warranty is void if our seal is broken on the radio body or if the wrong polarity is observed during installation. All car radios purchased directly online via our site have a minimum 12 month warranty. Shipping costs back to us for warranty work are at the buyers expense, we will then ship back, worldwide, at our expense. Our warranties are transferable, if the radio is sold or given to another or the car the radio is in is sold etc, as long as the warranty is still within the warrantied period and the warranty seal has not been broken.
TAX & CUSTOMS DUTIES:
All of our prices shown are EXCLUSIVE of VAT at 20%. For export out of the United Kingdom 20% VAT/TAX is NOT ADDED to your order, this now includes export to the EU. We cannot be held responsible for any customs and/or duties levied on goods. Any local charges are out of our control and we are not informed of these beforehand. We adhere to and supply documentation as asked for by those foreign territories. Please advise us of any details you wish us to note for import into your particular country, we are aware that some territories do not levy duties on vintage items but this is not always the case. If in doubt please contact your local customs department for advice. For goods inward it is the responsibility of the sender to pay any duties levied on arrival here in the United Kingdom, if using a courier please ensure that you have informed them that any duties/taxes levied on arrival are the senders responsibility, we reserve the right to refuse to accept the goods or invoice the sender any levies charged.
Our currency conversion is a guide only and just for information purposes. When paying via our checkout all transactions are in GBP £. If you are using a means of payment in another currency your card issuer or bank may charge you for this.
All radios are packed securely and well padded for transit. The packages are clearly marked FRAGILE and we always do our best to minimise the chance of transit damage.
Domestic and EU shipping is with DHL or Royal Mail Recorded.
North America shipping is with DHL EXPRESS or UPS.
Rest of the World will be DHL, FEDEX, DPD or Royal Mail Tracked.
Tracking information will be given to the purchaser on dispatch. If you wish to insure your item upto its purchase value we will charge you for this. We always keep proof of postage and photograph parcels in case of issues with the postal service used.
PURCHASE AND PART EXCHANGE:
Chromelondon only part exchange and/or purchase honest and traceable classic car radios, we will always ask for full name, address and from, time to time, proof of ownership. We will not purchase nor take in part exchange any item where ownership cannot be proven, a security code/card is missing and we reserve the right to report such items to relevant law enforcement.
Before installation the polarity of the receiving vehicle must be observed. We cannot be held liable for accidental damage to the vehicle's loom and/or electrical system when one of our radios or accessories is fitted remotely. All of our electrical components whether original / overhauled or new are safety checked to warranty standard before dispatch. All radios are supplied with connections marked and appropriate inline fuseholder with fuses added free of charge. We recommend that before installation the vehicle's loom is cleaned of wiring that is out of date or not being used and if unnecessary be removed. The receiving vehicle's electrical system should also be checked for irregular voltage and a safe fuse box is used to wire the radio's power supply through. When fitting items that have a small amount of residual heat such as polarity converters or voltage converters, these should be placed away form other heat sources and should never be placed on or attached to the radio body directly. We strongly recommend using a professional installer particularly when adding our products to an unrestored vehicle.
Since we established many years ago we have always started and finished a restoration with a full internal and external anti-bacterial wipedown of all parts. This process has only been improved in the current situation and rest assured that all our radio surfaces, particularly the fascia/knobs/buttons are thoroughly disinfected and cleaned before packaging. All our radios are wrapped in anti static wrap after cleaning and then put into an airtight bag before boxing. Our restorers wear gloves throughout the process and we have separated our restoration locations so distancing is always in place.
